The Naked Barclay Card Platinum

We called this the naked Barclay Card because the design is pretty bear/bland/naked of any features. It’s appearance is pretty lacklustre and really has nothing to distinguish it from the thousands of other cards out there.

Nonetheless it does offer some interesting features:

  • 0% introductory interest free rate on purchases for threee months and balance transfers until 1st April 2007.
  • No annual fee.
  • 56 days interest free if you pay your balance in full and on time.
  • Purchase delivery protection on new goods.
  • When you spend £500 on new purchases with your Barclaycard Platinum within 90 days of opening your account they will send you a flight voucher entitling you to a return flight with scheduled airlines to the USA or Europe. This is a really nice touch!
  • Typical APR 12.9% - excellent considering the average we see at Credit Card Cool is around the 16% mark. Although this was offered in a mail shot, we noted that the online offer is 17.9% - not good.

Credit Card Cool award a *** ranking out of a potential ***** star ranking for the Capital One Credit Card.
