Not one of our favourite cards principally because of the extortionate Typical APR but you do get some serious travel benefits.

The design is very uninspiring but functional:

• Complimentary Concierge service - your expert personal assistant can secure reservations at the most exclusive restaurants, find tickets for hard-to-book shows and sporting events, or even arrange a reliable electrician.
• Benefit from Priority Pass - your key to over 450 executive VIP airport lounges across the globe, worth £69 a year.
• VIP Travel Service MBNA TravelPlus - with exclusive offers on personalised holidays, flights or hotel bookings.
• Exclusive offers and discounts on the best leisure, dining and shopping offers through American Express SelectsSM.
• Earn 1.5 MBNA Reward points for every £1 you spend.
• Redeem your MBNA Rewards points for a much wider choice of rewards, from holidays, experiences and high street shopping, the choice is endless.
• 2,000 bonus MBNA Reward points on your first card purchase within 90 days of your account opening.
• Manage your account online - view your balance, credit limit and your last six months’ transaction history online, all from the comfort of your home.

Great card for a regular traveller but even then you have to ask whether the very high variable APR and annual fee justifies the benefits.
