Lloyds TSB Platinum Isn’t Very Sexy
The Lloyds TSB Platinum certainly won’t win any awards for aesthetic creativity. They have merely opted for the ubiquitous and unimaginative platinum grey design - very uninspiring to be honest. But the features and APR are quite attractive although having received two unsolicited phone calls and copious amounts of mail shot material on this product you kind of think that Lloyds are really going for the hard sell here.
Having said that, I have had an account with Lloyds for nearly twenty years and quite frankly the service has been superb. Anyway here are the features to take note of:
- 0% interest for 9 months on any balance transfer over £100.
- Each balance transfer incurs a 2% fee.
- APR is 14.9% - not bad considering the average APR we see is around the 16% mark.
- Up to 56 days interest free credit on all purchases.
- No annual fee - not sure why they keep on stating this in credit card offers as the last time I saw a fee in the wild must have been in 1989!
- Guarantee against online fraud loss.
- Free 30 day trial with Sentinel Card Protection which covers you against the loss or theft of your cards.
- Optional Payment Protection Cover.
