Actually you should give a XXXX about this card as it has some really nice features that differentiate it from the ususal run of the mill stuff that’s doing the rounds these days - and the card’s design is quite classy too.

I must admit that since I happened on the Nectar Points Card launch at Sainsbury’s head office in High Holburn London some years ago I have been disappointed with the rewards that the Nectar scheme has offered. You really do have to be going some in the spending department to get anywhere near some of the more extravagant points rewards. Having said that I think they may have come good with the Nectar Credit Card. image

Here’s why:

The Lloyds TSB Platinum certainly won’t win any awards for aesthetic creativity. They have merely opted for the ubiquitous and unimaginative platinum grey design - very uninspiring to be honest. But the features and APR are quite attractive although having received two unsolicited phone calls and copious amounts of mail shot material on this product you kind of think that Lloyds are really going for the hard sell here.

Full marks to Capital One they have come up with some great credit card designs that really are very Credit Card Cool.

These designs are bound to impress your friends and at the very least put a smile on your face when you cough up the readies for that expensive purchase!

It seems an age ago since Sky started out in the satellite TV market. They seem to have gone from strength to strength over the last decade. image

Even with their great success it was quite a surprise to receive a mail shot from Sky offering their new credit card. It does seem like every man and his dog if offering a credit card these days.

Anyway Sky seem to be offering a package that includes benefits and rewards but an uncompetitive APR in my opinion.

Here are some of the features.

Black Amex We’re going to be taking a look at which credit cards have the x-factor and which don’t over the coming months. Whilst we probably wouldn’t admit to it, many of us catch a glimpse of other people’s cards and make judgements as to their status and wealth based on this. I’m afraid we don’t have the statistical research to back this up yet, but it’s something I have definitely observed in the wild. It’s a little bit of the snob in all of us coming out I guess. Nonetheless, this is interesting from the perspective of what makes an opulently good looking credit card?

Gold and silver are favourites for credt card design and for obvious reasons, but my personal favourite is the legendary Black Amex!
